Welcome to our new blog series, Real Weddings, where we highlight our amazing couples, their wedding day experiences, and the stunning venues that made their day unforgettable.
For our first feature, we’re excited to share Chris and Sydney’s beautiful August 2024 wedding at The Aerie in Copper Mountain. Coming all the way from New Jersey, they had a clear vision for their dream wedding: a breathtaking mountain backdrop, an intimate yet grand setting, and a photography team that could capture every moment exactly as they envisioned. After an extensive search for both the perfect venue and photographer, they reached out to us, and we were truly honored to be part of their day.
A day of Beauty, Rain, & Perfect timing
The day started with a soft glow over the mountains, but in true Colorado fashion, the weather kept us on our toes with the threat of rain lingering in the background. The Aerie, a newly built luxury venue, stood ready to host an unforgettable celebration, offering sweeping mountain views and an elegant yet natural setting.
Sydney’s morning was filled with excitement as she got ready with her closest friends. She chose to do a dress reveal with her bridesmaids, a moment filled with laughter and happy tears.
Then, it was time for the first look with Chris, an emotional and intimate moment before they headed into their couple’s portraits, capturing the magic of the landscape before the ceremony.
The ceremony site at The Aerie is truly breathtaking. Perched on the edge of the mountain, it offers an open and airy feel, allowing guests to fully take in the surrounding peaks.

As we waited for the rain to clear, Chris and Sydney had a decision to make. Move the ceremony indoors or wait for the perfect moment? Chris confidently said, “When we came here, we booked this place for that view.” And that was it. We were going for it.
A Celebration to Remember
Just as they stepped into place, the rain paused, giving us the most incredible pocket of light. With the mountains behind them and their loved ones surrounding them, Chris and Sydney exchanged vows in a moment that was nothing short of magical.
As soon as the ceremony wrapped up, the rain returned, sending everyone inside for a night of celebration. But that didn’t dampen the party. Sydney and Chris lit up the dance floor with their guests, making the most of every second. The reception was filled with heartfelt toasts, delicious food, and an electric energy that kept the night alive.
Then, as if on cue, the rain stopped just in time for us to step back outside for some final portraits. The clouds had cleared, revealing a stunning night sky, the perfect ending to an unforgettable day.
