Engagement Session Through Golden, Colorado

Took a stroll through Golden, Colorado with this awesome couple that we had the great pleasure of getting to know these past few months. So excited for their wedding this fall!

Photoshoot took place a little before the golden hour to get those nice lights coming in from the sides and through the leaves. We had to wrap it up quickly at the end since the clouds were threatening to dump on us, but we made it up to lookout mountain with enough time and were so lucky to get those passing angry clouds for some sweet romantic shots. Amazing enough the color that came through at the end was totally organic, it felt like the perfect way to end the session.

We always take our softbox to every portrait shoot no matter how good we think the light will be. We bought a heavy duty stand with wheels on it to carry our strobe, this way it can withstand wind and it's still thin and easy to tuck away. I've tried lots of different tripods and stands and these are by far the best. Be prepared for the extra weight, the Avenger A5017 is 16 pounds. The wheels have locks on them that are a little tricky with long nails ;) My only critic is the color, I love everything black, so, but I have noticed the stainless steel does blend into areas like receptions very nicely. Over-all it's worth the buy if you're looking for a great light stand.
